So, How Does A Wine Tasting Work?
After a brief introduction and history of wine, our expert will then give a demonstration of how to taste the different flavours within wines, starting with wines of single grape varieties before moving onto wines of mixed grape varieties.
It's then time to get your nose into the wine! Smell is very important when it comes to knowing your wine, it wil also tell you if a bottle is corked even before it reaches your mouth! Each participant will be given a tasting sheet on which to write down their findings on both smell and taste (swallowing the wine is optional here!). Once all their thoughts are gathered, they can compare their findings to the wines on their briefing notes and then they must make an attempt to name the grape variety.
This offers an excellent opportunity to either have a team competition or have it as an individual challenge.
