So, How Does The Krypton Maze Work?

You face a series of fun mental and physical purpose built team challenges that you must complete in order to gain crystals.

We've created fun and engaging activities that will really test your teamwork and in a way that isn't overly physically demanding!

The activities have been especially designed in order to promote, (to name a few), communication skills, discussion, dealing with change, leadership, decision making and of course team working. As mentioned, they are also great fun!

We also offer the option of each activity being facilitated by one of our experienced teambuilding facilitators. They can help lead the team into discovering about their team dynamics.

Feedback can also be tailored toward any existing organizational goals that you have. This makes a more bespoke and relevant experience for the participants. We can also run these activities to help support behavioral analysis sessions such as Belbin, SDI, MBTI or others.

Zone Activity Examples:
Krypton Maze Serendipity – Several items need to be retrieved from within a specified zone. The teams only have a few resources with which to retrieve them. Can they work out how the items can safely be retrieved?
Indoor Team Building The Orbital – A number of silver orbs are positioned around a specified area. The team has to lay a path using a series of boards in order to obtain as many of the orbs as possible.

Zone Activity Examples:
Krypton Maze Activity Aztec Pyramid Re-location - The iconic pyramid needs to be moved to a new location. We have conveniently cut it into sections for you, but, due to it’s delicate nature, you must adhere to our specific instructions if this historic pyramid is to be saved!
Indoor Team Building Aztec Symbols – A tricky puzzle - 9 ancient tiles with 3 Aztec symbols on each side. Match up all the tiles so that where the tiles touch, the corresponding symbol matches. Once that's done, use the codex to reveal the code to access the Crystal kept safely in the Crystal Chest.

Zone Activity Examples:
Krypton Maze Activity Da Vinci Bridge – The great Leonardo Da Vinci came up with a concept for a free standing bridge as part of his 'application' for patronage from 'The Duke of Milan' Ludovico Sforfa. Described in Leonardos words: "I have plans for very light, strong and easily portable bridges with which to pursue and, on some occasions, flee the enemy, and others, sturdy and indestructible either by fire or in battle, easy and convenient to lift and place in position. Also means of burning and destroying those of the enemy." Can you work out how to put it together?
Indoor Team Building Build That Tune – You are presented with a distinctive tune of 4 notes. You are also given connecting blocks, wooden runners, balls and individual xylophone plates. All you have to do is exactly replicate the tune you heard. This is done by constructing a structure that a ball will run through striking the plates to replicate the tune.
Finale Examples:
Krypton Maze Outdoor Teambuilding The Dome – Teams will be given a set amount of time in The Dome depending on how well they have done on their challenges. Can the teams lower down the ranking make up for it in this thrilling end to the session?
Krypton Maze Outdoor Teambuilding Egg Toss – The teams are given a number of items with which to build a contraption to throw an egg the furthest distance possible. How far will your teams achieve? A great fun way to end the session. Will your team leave with egg on their face??

FAQs

The Krypton Maze is an event that has challenging mental tasks that the teams need to complete in order to gain crystals. The added spice is that teams will compete in pairs - racing to complete the challenge before the other team! The teams that have the most crystals at the end of the event then play off in our iconic Crystal Dome finale to find out which team is victorius.

As all our activities are completely mobile, including The Krypton Maze, we bring them to you! This can be at a venue convenient to you, or in grounds around the office if they are suitable. As a rule of thumb, we need an area around the size of a basketball court to host around 50 people. Do bear in mind that if you require a venue, our venue finding service is completely free!

Some of the challenges require some physicality. However, if you do have any lack of mobility issues, all the tasks require solutions that everyone can contribute too. Even if you can't partike in doing one or two of the tasks, they all require a degree of coordination so everyone can feel included at all times. If you have any doubts about the physicality of The Krypton Maze, please speak to a member of our team who can reassure you of its inclusivity as an event.

The Krypton Maze format is very flexible in terms of timings but to get the most out of the activity, we recommend a duration of between 2 and 4 hours. This includes the iconic Crystal Dome finale.

The Krypton Maze is perfect for teams looking to not only have a fun, competitive away day, but to also help promote communication, problem solving and motivation. The great variety of different tasks means that everyone in the team will contribute towards the task, making it a very inclusive event.

The Krypton Maze Event is incredibly flexible in terms of group size. It really is a perfect example of an event that works for small and large groups. If you are a small team looking to improve your teamwork - it works. If you have a company of 300 looking for a great Team Away Day Event - it works!

The best advice is to dress for the weather! In summer, t-sirt and shorts are absolutely fine, but you may want to include a hat for sun protection and sun cream. For days where the weather forecast isn't quite so favourable, a good quality waterproof coat and over-trousers will be worth their weight in gold - as would waterproof shoes or boots!
